Yoga / HamStrings / Flow

Yesterday I spent my evening yoga practice focusing on my hamstrings. Making sure every asana I did involved all of my three hamstrings. Oh my goodness - was it good! I felt such an lift and expansion. It was so needed especially considering all the walking that happens in the city. I felt like a new women. I really enjoy doing my practice focusing specifically on one area of the body. It really feels like I can address the area on a deeper level. I do also enjoy my practice to be a general flow. I enjoy that more in the morning and specificity more in the evening. Really anytime I do my yoga practice I fall in love all over again no matter what time of the day, what I am working on....it's pure love.

Massage Exchanges - How receiving is learning

How beneficial it is to do massage exchanges with fellow colleagues.

I just did an exchange with a dear friend of mine Carrie. It was stupendous. Not only was it beneficial for my mind, body and spirit, but I also learned some new tricks to put in my hat.

Receiving is learning. I feel like that goes for so many things. When one gives them self an experience to receive, it allows them to grow. To give is to receive and to receive is to give. Its all a circle. I learn when I give and I learn when I receive. It's all one! How beautiful!

Om Shanti

Deep Tissue / Forearm Massage / PNF Stretching

Today I had a client who requested a 1.5 hour deep tissue massage and then a .5 hour reflexology session. I decided to do the deep tissue primarily with my fore arms, elbows and PNF stretching. I chose to so this so I could go to a deeper level and to save my thumbs and hands for specific point work on the feet. It worked wonderfully. I was able to get to the particular muscles, and trigger points I wanted to access with out using my hands. My client loved it! It was a success, I have to say I just love experimenting with how my body can make contact with another being. I love bodywork!

Yoga in the morning

Early morning yoga.

How delightful. How wonderful it is to bring in the morning in with sun and moon salutations. To open the mind, body and spirit to movement!

I so enjoy my morning yoga practice. It helps me get ready for my day in a peaceful matter. It is so interesting how much more full I feel and awake I am when I do my morning yoga. How much more enjoyment I have during the day.

I thrive off moving, working and feeling my body! How great it is to be alive and breathing!

The breath, how powerful it is to engage the breath, in my yoga practice and my day to day activity. How much more conscious I become with my day to day activity when I engage my breath. How much more energy I have. I am so grateful for yoga.

Hula-Hooping / Reflexology

My first blog entry, here we go....

I have been hula-hooping daily. Loving it! Hula-hooping works the deep abdominal, especially the obliques and tranverse abdominals. Some exorcises just don't go that deep and are much more painful! As well as being a cardio work out, Hula-Hoopings is fun too!

I have been doing a fair amount of reflexology lately and feeling how wonderful and beneficial it is on all levels.

Now I am going to play more with this blog.
