The Benefits Of Massage

Today I worked with a client who wanted to know what exactly the benefits of massage were. I explained that there were many, and I thought it would be a good idea to share my top ten:

Top 10 reasons why massage is beneficial to the body, mind and spirit:
1) Massage increases blood flow and circulation.
2) Massage increases lymph flow. The lymph is an essential fluid for healthy body cells and tissues.
3) Massage enhances the condition and suppleness of the skin.
4) Massage rehabilitates injuries.
5) Massage opens and lengthens the muscles.
6) Massage creates more mobility.
7) Massage releases adhesions ("knots").
8) Massage opens blockages in the body, both physically and energetically.
9) Massage encourages deep relaxation.
10) Massage calms the mind and nervous system, thus reducing stress and anxiety!
